Tour Plan

Day 1

Very early this morning travel to your resort from Johannesburg Airport in a luxury, airconditioned bus.

Stop en route at various lookout points:

God’s Window and Bourkes Lucks Potholes.

After lunch we make our way to the resort hotel for check in and relaxation.

Bourkes Luck Potholes

Located within Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, Bourke’s Luck Potholes were formed by centuries of swirling whirlpools at the confluence of the Treur and Blyde Rivers, eroding away the sandstone bedrock. Named after Tom Bourke, an unsuccessful gold prospector working in the area, this natural attraction comprises a series of interconnected cylindrical pools divided by sandstone outcrops.

Viewing platforms and bridges cross above some of the best formations, and depending on the time of day, river levels and mineral content in the water, the view of the holes and multi-coloured sandstone changes.

There are intertwined walkways and bridges and offer multiple viewpoints, and of course fantastic photo opportunities.

Day 2 & 3

Enjoy sunrise and sunset game drives to explore this wildlife-rich corner of the Kruger National Park.

We arrive back for breakfast and a rest.

We head out again late this afternoon to catch the sunset viewing.

Scores of lion, leopard and cheetah have made this area their home, so the big cats are comfortable in the presence of game vehicles, allowing for incredible close ups.

Day 4

This morning after breakfast we seek out the fantastic range of wildlife that the Kruger offers including all of the ‘Big 5’, namely elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard.

After lunch we will head back to view the diverse flora and fauna of the National Park on an afternoon game drive.

Day 5

This morning after breakfast we will drive back and visit the Mac Mac Fallls and Pilgrims Rest, a quaint town that has been declared a national monument. Here, visitors can relive the days of the old Transvaal gold rush.

The history of this quaint and delightful village dates back to 1873 when a miner, Alex Patterson, discovered alluvial gold on the farm named Ponieskrantz. Though the discovery was kept as a secret, once a second prospector named William Trafford also discovered gold close by, the inevitable happened. Soon after, optimistic panners and prospectors from all over the country and the World came to the area.

We arrive back at your hotel in Johannesburg, exhausted but thrilled and enriched by our experiences.

Day 6

Sadly, all good things must come to an end.

Depart for the airport to board our flights back home.
